The County Clerk's office is the "keeper of records" for Perkins County. It is the "hub" of all offices
and the place residents from our county, state, and other areas look to for information.
The County Clerk's duties include recording all proceedings of the County Board and attending all Board meetings.
The County Clerk must coutersign all warrents issued by the Board, which have been signed by the chairman. Special
duties, as required by law may also be neccessary. The clerk is responible for all the official bonds and county
insurance. Each year before February 1st, the clerk reports to the Secretary of State the names of all county
officials, their signatures, and their seals of office. The County Clerk may appoint a deputy for whose acts the
clerk will be responsible. The County Clerk is responsible for the accounting of the Vendor Claims and Payroll
Claims for all the County Offices and Departments. In addition the County Clerk serves as the County Register of Deeds
and the County Election Commissioner and Clerk of the District Court.
